A personal thank you to the NHS

Well what a week it has been in the North Wales Dragons team. Last Monday saw the Dragons rocked by the news that  Co-founder Chris Roberts had suffered a heart attack at some point over the weekend. The discovery was made after Chris who was feeling unwell phoned for an Ambulance on Monday afternoon and after initial tests at his home he was taken to Ysbyty Glan Clwyd. The doctors and nurses were very quick to react, giving Chris the necessary treatment to get him on the road to recovery. After a week-long stay in the hospital which included further tests and an operation to have stents placed he is now recovering back home.

Chris Roberts had this to say “I would like to offer my heart-felt gratitude to all the amazing staff at Glan Clwyd Hospital, particularly to those in the cath lab and the coronary care unit.¬† Particular thanks must go to Dr Subkaovis, Dr Das, Shelley, Nige, Tina and all the rest of the backroom staff”. Thank you for saving my life.

Father of fellow Co-founders Steven and Gareth, he has started strong on his road to recovery and is all ready thinking of ways he can raise funds and awareness in the future. We would like to thank the NHS but particularly the staff at Ysbyty Glan Clwyd with their quick reactions, insights and knowledge that helped Chris and his family through a difficult period.

A personal note from myself is of thanks, not only to the staff at Ysbyty Glan Clwyd but also to my Dragons team mates, who have all made sure that my Dad was recovering and would have been there if we had needed them.

Until next time
