Recap

The annual North Wales Dragons Invitational took place last weekend on the 3G pitches of Llandrillo where the Dragons train on a Friday night. The event has been deemed a great success both on and off the field. The Dragons this year entered two teams with the squad split as equally as we could, coming in fifth and sixth respectively, the teams showed great character from the start and were putting in some great performances.

Colwyn Bay FC Reserves fielded a strong team which narrowly took the top spot of North Wales Police by netting more goals. The future of Colwyn Bay FC is looking bright if this team is anything to go by. It is with a big thank you to teams Colwyn Bay FC, North Wales Police, Total Tranmere, Barclays Bank, Rover Radio and West Wirral Galacticos that we can hold events like this every year which is enjoyed by all who participate and come to watch. Thanks must also be said to North Wales Dragons Life Member, Ruth Lloyd Williams for coming to watch and handing over the trophy to the event winners.

Each of the teams were raising funds and awareness for various charities, the total amount raised so far from the event is not yet available, but we will soon have a blog being released with the final amount.

It is with some sadness how ever that we must announce the retirement of one of our longest serving players. Mike Goodman, one of our top defenders who was sometimes seen in goal or trying a superman esque header towards goal, has decided to hang up his boots due to injury and a heavier work load. Managing 23 appearances out of a possible 27, the number 15 has however said he will continue to come along to our events and help in what ever way he can.
