Before the year runs out the North Wales Dragons signed up for a friendly against fellow community footballers, Merseyside Thunder. The match see’s more than a result up for grabs, as the match features not only former members of the North Wales Dragons but the match pitches a brother v brother in the ultimate bragging rights competition. The match did not start off well for the Dragons, sporting a few fielded injuries and new members to the team, we were soon to go two goals down. Tom King added one to his tally for the season for the Dragons before a penalty was awarded to the travelling Thunder. This cannoned off the bar but this would not matter come the end of the match. Thunder would go on to score another two before half time.

Our packed year of matches had finally caught up with us in the second half, going down to ten men due to injuries our defence was in for a tough ride. Thunder showed no mercy by scoring another 5 goals, attacking with every possesion of the ball, making for grim reading when the final whistle blew.

A huge thanks to Merseyside Thunder for traveling to us and we hope to play you again very soon.
